Day-to-day leadership and external communication of the project is delegated to the Senior Management Group, which is made up of the Chair, Vice Chair and the Working Group Leaders.

Rob Methorst was born in 1950 and graduated at Groningen university as a human geographer - land use planner. Currently he is a senior consultant and traffic safety research supervisor at the AVV Transport Research Centre of the Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management in the Netherlands. From the start of his carrier he worked in the field of transport and traffic safety, first 3 years for a local authority, then 10 years as the secretary of the then experimental Regional Road Safety Board, dealing with the co-ordination and stimulation of new traffic safety policy strategies and knowledge management. The following that he worked 10 year as head of traffic policy at the Dutch Pedestrians Association. Here he focussed on creating an adequate knowledge base, policy innovation and lobbying. In his current job at the ministry the universal experience and networking are used to help improving the quality of policy making on the national level.

Jim is the Vice Chair of the PQN Project and has been involved in developing, managing and promoting access projects for 15 years. He is an experienced policy advisor, strategy writer and project manager for access issues across the health, leisure, tourism, transport and planning sectors. He has a degree in Environmental Management and specialises in writing and implementing communication strategies with expertise in online, onsite and printed marketing solutions. Jim is Chair of Walk21 and Director of London Walking Forum. He has been a Nature Conservation Manager, Trail Manager and a Ranger in UK, New Zealand and United States.

Daniel has been working as a sociologist for the past 20 years in the field of walking, road danger reduction, the analysis of mobility patterns and inclusive public spaces, as well as the development of related policies and strategic concepts.
Between 1990 and 2001 he co-managed the Swiss pedestrian organisation, represented the International Federation of Pedestrians at the United Nations and participated in COST Action C6.
Since 2001 he has been operating his own business, Urban Mobility Research, where he has headed a number of research projects for federal departments, the city of Zurich and national institutions like the Swiss National Science Foundation. Most recently he has completed studies about inclusive public spaces and active mobility patterns for children and young adults.
His international involvement is reflected in speaking engagements in Europe and North America, in contributions to European research programmes, the International Charter for Walking, and in the organization of the 6th WALK21 conference in Zurich 2005.
